

The secret to interesting typography lies somewhere between loving letters and hating them. The true experimentalist is therefore driven by both reverence and violence, devotion and disdain.
I hope it's clear that the comma splice in the preceding sentence was poetically intentional.
I also feel compelled to point out that I listened to a lot of The Mae Shi while working on these pieces. Their influence may not be immediately apparent to anyone who isn't me (which is the vast majority of you, I'd estimate), but you can trust me when I say it was an essential part of the creative process.
